Dr. Daniel Pompa is a health expert, author, speaker, trainer, and family man on a mission to bring answers to a

Pompa started his career as a licensed Chiropractor, building one of the most successful practices in Pennsylvania, but in 2000, he was suddenly plagued by a host of unexplainable symptoms. Dr. Shiple is a recognized leader of Ultrasound guided Orthobiologics, including Bone Marrow Concentrate, Adipose Fat Grafts, PRP and Prolotherapy injection work in the Philadelphia area and nationally. He is in private practice for more than 17 years after completing 13 years as the division chief of Sports Medicine and director and founder of the Sports Medicine Fellowship program at Crozer-Keystone Health System in 1995. He is involved in clinical research and is an active member of various national sports medicine and orthopedic organizations. He teaches ultrasound guided PRP and prolotherapy injection techniques nationally and internationally through the Hackett-Hemwall Foundation from the University of Wisconsin and for the American Academy of Orthopedic Medicine, which he served as the past president for the AAOM through Covid and beyond. He also teaches diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound guided injection techniques nationally and internationally. His clinical interests include Ultrasound Guided Autologous Bone Marrow Concentrate, Adipose Fat Grafts, Platelet Rich Plasma, Prolotherapy Injections, Non-surgical release of Nerve Entrapment, Non-operative treatment of Acute or Chronic Tendon and Ligament injuries, Non-surgical care of Arthritis, Fluoroscopic C-Arm guided Interventional Spine Injections including cell based treatments for intervertebral disc injuries and herniations as well as Musculoskeletal Diagnostic Ultrasound.
He has served as team physician to several local school districts, was the founding medical director of the Philadelphia Triathlon at Fairmount Park, was the chief medical officer of the Pennsylvania State Games from 1994 to 2006 and was a volunteer Team Physician of the USOC in Colorado Springs in 2003.
He has authored several scientific articles, book chapters and research projects. He has lectured locally and nationally and appeared on ESPN. He was recognized as one of Philly Magazine’s "Top Docs" in 2003. He was featured on PBS for his Regenerative Injection work during the summer of 2013 for the American Milestone Series. He wrote a book for the lay public on the new treatment paradigm of Regenerative Medicine Injection work called, ‘Regenerative Healing for Life’ published during the summer of 2013. He helped publish a scientific paper on a new nomenclature system for research with PRP in the PMR journal in 2015. Dr. Shiple has been using autologous stem cell injections to treat advanced arthritis and sports injuries since 2010 and is a founding board member of the International Cellular Medicine Society. He became the second Regenexx Stem Cell affiliate in the US during the end of 2011. He left the Regenexx network at the end of 2015 to pursue all that the new field of IROM has to offer. He believes the future of our specialty is to use advanced regenerative orthobiologic cell-based treatments with minimally invasive techniques in a new specialty called Interventional Regenerative Orthopedic Medicine (IROM).
Dr. Shiple has become board members and medical directors for Allovi a placental tissue company and Renuvi a regenerative medicine physician network as well as a board member and medical director of Good Biologics a orthobiologics kit company. He has served as the president of the board of directors for the AAOM. He presented a lecture topic on Integrating Regenerative Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery at the International Cartilage Restoration Society in San Diego, CA January of 2019. He also was invited to present a lecture on the science of placental tissue applications in sports medicine at the annual AMSSM’s 1st inaugural Regenerative Medicine Workshop. He was named the medical director of regenerative medicine for Delaware Spine Care in Newark, DE, which performs over 7000 interventional spine procedures per year on mostly workers compensation patients with spine injuries. Dr Shiple was brought in to incorporate his interventional orthobiologics spine care program into their worker’s compensation model to study the difference in outcomes and cost compared to usual care, including surgery. He has trained a team of expert interventional spine physicians and surgeons to use his orthobiologics interventional spine procedures to treat patients that have failed conservative care and there only option left is various spine surgeries. He has collected up to one-year data that is showing great outcomes in pain relief, increased function and return to work as well as cost savings compared to usual care most worker’s compensation patients undergo. Dr. Shiple’s spine protocol involves using the patient’s own bone marrow concentrate and various preparations of the patient’s own blood products like PRP and concentrated plasma to treat the functional spinal unit. Dr. Shiple has started a fellowship program in Interventional Regenerative Orthopedic Medicine and has finished training his first fellow in the fall of 2020 and he brought him on as his junior associate to begin building his practice with Dr Shiple. Dr Shiple has been busy in 2021 performing virtual Zoom lectures in Regenerative Medicine conferences at prestigious academic meetings for the Korean Association of Orthopedic Medicine, as well as for the Virginia Commonwealth Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Richmond Virginia and an Orthobiologics program out of Hong Kong. Dr. Shiple has signed a joint venture with a Pure MSC Company form Las Angeles called Orthovi, LLC. He is the Medical Director and in charge of conducting research on applying a pure culture expanded mesenchymal stem cell product into his Spine Degenerative Disc Protocol both offshore and in his practice and four other US partner practices as well as a Biologic Knee protocol to treat advanced degenerative conditions and internal derangement of patient’s injured knees. Dr. Shiple has been a licensed provide of the Discseel procedure since 2019. He has incorporated the Discseel procedure with Intradiscal culture expanded stem cells for internal derangement of the intervertebral discs as part of his International Stem Cell Treatment program.
